Popular Dog-Friendly Spots Near Brisbane
The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast offer some of the best dog-friendly beach options in South East Queensland — perfect for day trips or weekends away with your pup.
- Gold Coast – Wide, sandy stretches with off-leash areas (e.g. around Currumbin and The Spit)
- Sunshine Coast – Long off-leash sections at places like Stumers Creek (Coolum) and Moffat Beach (with seasonal/time restrictions)
National Parks notice: Dogs are not permitted on K’gari (Fraser Island), Moreton Island, Magnetic Island, or most Whitsunday islands.
